A bale handling apparatus having a rigid mobile frame includes a spaced pair of longitudinal bale pickup and bale-carrying members extending substantially from front to rear of the frame forming a chute for picking-up, transporting and discharging a series of hay bales. A pulling tongue is pivotally attached to the frame at a position juxtaposed to a central portion of a frame cross member in a central portion of the frame. An arcuate rail is connected to the frame and extends over an arc angle having a bisector on the frame central longitudinal axis to an arc termini offset from axis, representative of corresponding offset position of the frame in bale pick-up position. A rail follower is attached to the tongue and is in moving engagement relative to the frame along the arc such that the frame is movable relative to a towing vehicle to either left-side towing or right-side towing, bale pick-up and bale-carrying positions.
Appareil de manutention de balles constitué d'un cadre rigide mobile et d'une paire d'éléments espacés l'un de l'autre servant respectivement à ramasser et à porter les balles. Ces éléments sont disposés en gros de l'avant à l'arrière du cadre en formant un éjecteur de balles pour ramasser, transporter et décharger une série de balles de foin. Une fourche de tirage est rattachée au cadre par une liaison pivotante au niveau de la section centrale de la traverse du cadre, traverse elle-même située dans une partie centrale du cadre. Un rail courbe et rattaché au cadre forme un arc dont la bissectrice passe par l'axe longitudinal du cadre et dont une extrémité est décalée par rapport à cet axe, ce qui correspond à la position décentrée du cadre pendant le ramassage d'une balle. Un galet de rail est relié à la fourche tout en étant rattaché au cadre par une liaison mobile située le long de cet arc. Le cadre est ainsi en mesure de se déplacer par rapport à un véhicule de remorquage pour se mettre en position de remorquage à gauche ou à droite et pour adopter une position de ramassage et de soutien des balles.
