ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A helical coil spring coupler for clutch dampers used in torque converters or clutches wherein the coil springs are compressed in series alignment end-to-end in an arcuate channel. Each coil spring-to- coil spring interface has a ball and socket coupling attached to the springs and providing force transmission axially through each coil. The spring end coils are fully supported by a flange of the couplings; preventing spring end coil breakage.
