ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A ball/ball retriever combination having a ball retriever which consists of an elongate member having opposed ends. A tape fastener is affixed to at least one of the opposed ends of the elongate member. The ball consists of a spherical body having an exterior surface. The exterior surface of the spherical body has at least one zone covered with a material that adheres to the tape fastener on one of the opposed ends of the elongate member. The ball retriever is used to raise the ball from a groundsurface by bringing one of the opposed ends of the elongate member into contact with the adherent zone on the exterior surface of the ball.
