The invention relates to a ball bearing (1) having an inner race and an outer race. In order to prevent the rotating parts from being damaged when the bearing assembly fails, the invention provides that the bearing has surfaces (14, 15), which are concentric to the rotation axis (6) and of which one is a part of the rotating bearing race and the others are a part of the fixed bearing race. The invention also provides that, during normal operation, the surfaces (14, 15) are situated opposite one another with a relatively narrow gap (24) therebetween and that, in the event of failure, the surfaces (14, 15) function as emergency bearing surfaces.
L'invention concerne un roulement à billes (1) comprenant une bague intérieure et une bague extérieure. Pour empêcher un endommagement des pièces rotatives en cas de défaillance du système de roulement, le roulement selon l'invention présente des surfaces (14, 15) concentriques par rapport à l'axe de rotation (6), une de ces surfaces faisant partie de la bague rotative du roulement et l'autre faisant partie de la bague fixe du roulement. Un interstice (24) relativement étroit sépare les surfaces (14, 15) en marche normale, lesdites surfaces (14, 15) servant de surfaces de roulement de secours en cas de défaillance du système de roulement.
