A socket is disclosed for connecting an electrical device to an external circuit such as a printed circuit board. The socket comprises a housing having a bottom surface and a top surface with a plurality of apertures therethrough, a plurality of contact terminals, each terminal disposed within one of the apertures of the housing and a compressible structure of electrical conductive material disposed within each of the plurality of contact terminals. Additionally, the socket may also include a loading device for securing the electrical device to the socket. 16
