A tool for installation of a ball joint into an interference-fit accommodating hole in a control arm of a vehicle is provided, which operates as an integrated unit. A body of the ball joint compressor (10) includes an upper and a lower support (1 and 2), spaced apart and fixedly interconnected by a pair of bilateral supports (3a and 3b). A movable compression member (4) is mounted to the body of the ball joint compressor (10), to allow movement thereof between the upper and lower supports (1 and 2) along a central vertical axis (A). An advancement screw (6) is threaded through the lower support (2), providing a means by which movement may be imparted to the movable compression member (4). The upper support (1) includes an upper stop (14) extending downwardly and including a cavity for receiving a portion of a ball joint (21) which protrudes through an accommodating hole (24) in a control arm (25) during compression.
On décrit un outil d'installation d'un joint à rotule dans un trou récepteur, à ajustement serré, situé dans un bras de commande d'un véhicule, cet outil fonctionnant en tant qu'unité intégrée. Un corps de compresseur (10) de joint à rotule comprend un support inférieur et supérieur (1 et 2), espacés l'un de l'autre et reliés fixement par une paire de supports latéraux (3a, 3b).
