A ball launching apparatus comprises a ball propulsion mechanism for propelling a ball and a ball feed mechanism for intermittently feeding balls to the ball propulsion mechanism. The ball feed mechanism has a rotatable wheel defined by at least a first member and a second member. The wheel has a recess therein for receiving a ball being fed to the propulsion mechanism. The recess is located between a surface of the first member and a surface of the second member. The second member is moveable with respect to the first member in a direction opposite to a direction of rotation of the wheel to increase a size of the recess for receiving larger a ball. A method of feeding balls to a ball propulsion mechanism is also provided.

Un appareil lanceur de balle comprend un mécanisme de propulsion de balle pour propulser une balle et un mécanisme d'alimentation de balle pour alimenter des balles par intermittence au mécanisme de propulsion de balle. Le mécanisme de propulsion de balle est muni d'une roue rotative défini par au moins un premier élément et un deuxième élément.
