A ball-shaped play equipment which can output speech corresponding to a shock and cab be played in various ways. The ball-shaped play equipment includes a conversion unit (30) for converting external speech into first speech data, a first recording unit (54) for recording the first speech data, a detection unit (58) for detecting the shock applied to the ball-shaped play equipment, and a reproduction unit (40) for outputting speech according to the first speech data recorded in the first recording unit (54) when the detection unit (58) detects a shock. Here, at least one of the conversion unit (30) and the first recording unit (54) operates when an operation signal is received and may further include an operation unit (20) operable from outside and a signal transmission unit (52) for transmitting an operation signal to at least one of the conversion unit and the first recording unit according to the operation applied to the operation unit (20).
