ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A ball valve is disclosed having improved seal life. The ball valve has a main body unit with a fluid passageway therethrough, an inlet and an outlet, one at each end of the fluid passageway and a ball closure member fitting closely within the central chamber, the ball closure member fitting closely within the central chamber, the ball closure member having a passage therethrough, the passage being smaller in diameter than the inlet or outlet. Means are provided for rotating the ball closure member to align or misalign the passage in the ball closure member with the fluid passageway in the main body unit. Two annular seals are positioned in the fluid passageway on either side of the ball closure member, each of the two seals having two circular line contacts with the ball closure member, and seal locating means are provided for each of the two seals to positively locate the seals a predetermined distance apart within the main body unit.
