ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein describes a machine for dressing and distributing railway road bed ballast which comprises: a frame; wheels for supporting the frame and engaging rails; a dressing unit located near the front end of the frame which includes first and second support arms and first and second rotary lateral dressing drums; a redistributing unit located rearwardly of the dressing unit which includes third and fourth support arms, first and second ploughs, a drum support, a transfer drum and bridge elements; and a brush unit located rearwardly of the redistributing unit which includes a central cleaning unit, a rotary brush and a chute for collecting material engaged by the rotary brush.
