A composition for treating waters, e.g. ballast water or injection water for oil recovery, to kill in-situ aquatic invasive species comprises at least one biocide capable of killing both animal and plant micro-organisms. The at least one biocide preferably comprises Brilliant Green, Gentian Violet, and/or erythrosine, and a wetting agent or detergent-like compound such as CTAB or CTAC. The invention also relates to a system for treating ballast water in situ comprising means for injecting a composition for treating ballast water; means for measuring the flow rate or amount of ballast water to be treated; means for controlling the dosing of the composition; and means for storing or receiving the composition. The invention also relates to a method of detecting viable aquatic organisms in ballast water in situ comprising detecting metabolism in viable micro-organisms in ballast water and, therefore, measuring the efficacy of any treatment.
L'invention concerne une composition pour traiter des eaux, par exemple de l'eau de ballastage ou de l'eau d'injection pour la récupération de pétrole, pour tuer in situ des espèces invasives aquatiques, la composition comprenant au moins un biocide capable de tuer à la fois des micro-organismes animaux et végétaux. Le ou les biocides comprennent de préférence du vert brillant, du violet gentiane et/ou de l'érythrosine et un agent mouillant ou un composé de type détergent tel que du CTAB ou du CTAC. L'invention concerne aussi un système pour traiter in situ de l'eau de ballastage, comprenant des moyens pour injecter une composition pour traiter l'eau de ballastage; des moyens pour mesurer le débit ou la quantité d'eau de ballastage à traiter; des moyens pour contrôler le dosage de la composition; et des moyens pour stocker ou recevoir la composition. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé pour détecter des organismes aquatiques vivants dans l'eau de ballastage in situ, le procédé comprenant la détection du métabolisme dans des micro-organismes vivants dans l'eau de ballastage et, par conséquent, la mesure de l'efficacité de tout traitement.
