The invention relates to an expandable intragastric balloon, for implantation into the stomach of a patient, to reduce the volume thereof for the treatment of obesity. Said balloon (1) is provided with at least one first flexible pouch (2), capable of shifting from a folded position to an expanded position by introducing an inflation fluid into the first pouch (2), said expanded position giving a functional form to the balloon. Said balloon is characterised in that it comprises a ballasting means (3), for making said balloon (1) substantially heavy to improve the positioning thereof in the stomach.
L'invention concerne un ballon intra-gastrique expansible destiné à être implanté à l'intérieur de l'estomac d'un patient pour réduire le volume de l'estomac dans le cadre d'un traitement de l'obésité, ledit ballon (1) étant pourvu d'au moins une première poche (2) souple apte à passer d'une position pliée à une position expansée par introduction d'un fluide de gonflage à l'intérieur de la première poche (2), ladite position expansée donnant au ballon sa forme fonctionnelle, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un moyen de lestage (3) dudit ballon permettant d'alourdir sensiblement le ballon (1) pour améliorer son positionnement dans l'estomac.
