Ballistic collar comprising a bellows shaped member (1) which is arranged to surround a human's neck, comprising bellows plies (2,3) being mainly perpendicular to the axis of the collar or of the human's neck. Free standing, the structure stands up around the neck to provide ballistic protection. The structure may be formed by folding a sheet of ballistic rated body armor fabric comprising strong synthetic fibers, e.g. from aromatic polyamide fibers, or ultra high molecular weight polyolefin, e.g. polyethylene polypropylene, fibers. For manufacturing the ballistic collar a plurality of sheets may be piled-up and the whole may be submitted to transformation in a mold (5,6) at a temperature and pressure at which the sheets remain mainly loose from each other. Preferably parts of the collars or bellows shaped members are made, which are assembled afterwards e.g. by stitching, welding etc.
L'invention concerne un collier balistique qui comprend un élément (1) en forme de soufflet agencé pour entourer le cou d'un être humain, et comprenant des replis de soufflet (2, 3) principalement perpendiculaires à l'axe du collier ou du cou de l'être humain. Lorsqu'elle est posée librement, la structure entoure le cou de manière à offrir une protection balistique. La structure peut être formée en repliant une feuille de tissu de blindage du corps de qualité balistique comprenant de solides fibres synthétiques, par exemple des fibres de polyamide aromatique, ou des fibres de polyoléfine à poids moléculaire ultra-élevé, par exemple des fibres de poly(éthylène-propylène). Pour fabriquer le collier balistique, on peut empiler plusieurs feuilles, l'ensemble subissant une transformation dans un moule (5, 6) à une température et une pression auxquelles les feuilles restent principalement lâches les unes par rapport aux autres. On fabrique de préférence des parties des éléments en forme de collier ou de soufflet pour les assembler ensuite, par exemple par couture, soudage, etc.
