A balloon catheter in which a high-frequency current is supplied between electrodes spaced in a balloon, the liquid in the balloon is heated, and the heat conducted through the balloon abrades the organism tissue in contact with the balloon, characterized in that the area of the surface of each electrode is 20 mm2 or more or a potential detecting electrode for detecting the potential at an abrasion portion is disposed outside the balloon and in a potion at least before or behind the balloon.
L'invention porte sur un cathéter à ballon dans lequel on alimente deux électrodes placées dans le ballon par un courant à haute fréquence, pour chauffer un liquide placé dans le ballon, dont la chaleur abrade les tissus organiques en contact avec le ballon. La surface de chacune de ces électrodes est de 20 cm2 ou plus. On dispose de plus une électrode de détection de potentiel extérieure au ballon, placée au niveau de la partie à abrader, soit en aval, soir en amont du ballon.
