A system for treating uterine disorders includes a balloon catheter having a cannula with a proximal end and a dis-tal end, and an inflatable balloon secured over the distal end of the cannula The device includes a heating assembly coupled with the distal end of the cannula and disposed inside the inflatable balloon, and an impeller disposed inside the heating assembly In one embodiment, the heating assembly includes an elongated heating tube having a heating film covering an outer wall thereof, at least one fluid inlet extending though the outer wall and a fluid outlet located at a distal end of the elongated heating tube The im-peller is rotatable for drawing fluid through the at least one fluid inlet and into the elongated heating tube for heating the fluid, and discharging the heated fluid from the fluid outlet for circulating the fluid throughout the inflatable balloon.
Linvention porte sur un système permettant de traiter les troubles utérins, ledit système incluant un cathéter à ballonnet comportant une canule possédant une extrémité proximale et une extrémité distale, et un ballonnet gonflable fixé sur lextrémité distale de la canule. Le dispositif inclut un ensemble chauffant couplé à lextrémité distale de la canule et disposé à lintérieur du ballonnet gonflable, ainsi quune turbine disposée à lintérieur dudit ensemble chauffant. Dans un mode de réalisation, lensemble chauffant comporte un tube chauffant allongé muni dun film chauffant recouvrant une paroi extérieure dudit tube, au moins une admission de fluide sétendant à travers la paroi extérieure et au moins une sortie de fluide située à une extrémité distale du tube chauffant allongé. La turbine peut être mise en rotation pour attirer le fluide à travers ladite ou lesdites admissions de fluide, faire passer le fluide dans le tube chauffant allongé afin de chauffer ledit fluide, puis évacuer le fluide chauffé par la sortie de fluide afin que le fluide chauffé circule dans le ballonnet gonflable.
