An endoluminal prosthetic delivery system provides a delivery sheath possessing a yield strength capable of allowing implantation of the prosthesis with increased efficiency. An endoluminal prosthesis is inserted in a body in a radially compressed condition, and expanded at an implantation site, whereby a delivery sheath or the prosthesis itself possesses a yield strength sufficient to allow radial expansion of the prosthesis. A method of implanting an endoluminal prosthesis is also herein provided.

L'invention concerne un système d'administration de prothèse endoluminale, comprenant une gaine d'administration présentant une limite conventionnelle d'élasticité qui permet d'implanter une prothèse plus efficacement. Une prothèse endoluminale est introduite à l'état radialement comprimé dans un corps, puis elle est étirée sur un site d'implantation, à l'endroit même où une gaine d'administration ou la prothèse elle-même présente une limite conventionnelle d'élasticité suffisante pour permettre l'expansion de ladite prothèse. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'implanter une prothèse endoluminale.
