A Bandage for covering a body opening from which a line, hose, conduit or the like, not belonging to the body, projects is claimed, which bandage comprises a support (8) with a slit (5) beginning at the edge of the support (8) and extending into the support (8) with formation of a first support half (7a) to one side and a second support half (7b) to the other side of the slit (5), wherein on each of the two support halves (7a, 7b), in parallel orientation to the slit (5), a flat absorption core (3,4) is disposed, respectively, and which is characterized in that the slit (5) in the area of its end is provided with a widened portion (6). The bandage may be used as a slitted compress.
