IMPROVEMENTS IN BANDING KNIVES AND THE LIKE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A banding knife holder is provided together with a replaceable tip which are bolted into position rather than being welded thus facilitating easy replace- ment thereof. The side plates of the tip are recessed into each side of a holder thus enabling a single fasten- er to be used in the securement of the tip to the holder because of the socketing relationship therebetween. This improves draft and the full shoulder contact spreads and absorbs the impact pressure of obstacles engaged by the tip during use. Replaceable tillage sweeps may be bolted on each side of the tip for ease of replacement and enable fertilizer to be deep banded while shallow culti- vation of the soil is accomplished.
