IMPROVED BANDMILL STRAIN SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bandmill in which a bandsaw extending around two bandwheels is subjected to strain by causing the two wheels to be spread apart by jacking system incorporating an air spring. The air spring comprises a bellows unit or a rolling diaphragm air cylinder unit and may act through a linkage or directly between the frame of the bandmill and the journal of one of the wheel movable in the frame.
