A bandsaw machine comprises lower and upper wheels supported by a stationary shaft and a movable shaft, respectively, a bandsaw mounted on and around the wheels to run therearound, and a bandsaw tension mechanism for normally stretching said bandsaw. The bandsaw tension mechanism includes a lever, a weight hung from one end of the lever, a push rod having a lower end connected to the other end of the lever and an upper end engaging the movable shaft, and a vibration absorber interposed between the weight and one end of the lever. Thus, a balance weight is not directly influenced by vibration of a balance lever caused by changes in tensile force of a bandsaw, and thereby prevents transfer of its vibration to the bandsaw, changes in tensile force of the bandsaw, vibration and unstable travel of the bandsaw.
