A security document (20) comprising a sheet having a front surface, a rear surface and sides edges. The sheet includes one or more windows (40; 50; 60; 70; 80) or half-windows (90; 100; 110) formed from a transparent or translucent material. At least one of the windows or half-windows is an edge window or half- window (40; 50; 60; 110) which extends to at least one side edge region (21; 23) of the sheet, and said edge window or half-window includes one or more of the following features: a denominator; an independent security device; and/or a trigger feature.
