A bar screen for screening a flow of wastewater, the bar screen comprising a frame, a first bar rack supported by the frame and extending across the flow of wastewater, the first bar rack including a plurality of generally parallel, elongated first bars each having a top end and a bottom end, the plurality of first bars defining therebetween a plurality of upstream spaces, a first bar rack top support engaged with the top end of each first bar and a first bar rack bottom support engaged with the bottom end of each first bar, a second bar rack supported by the frame and extending across the flow of wastewater, the second bar rack including a plurality of generally parallel, elongated second bars each having a top end and a bottom end, a second bar rack top support engaged with the top end of each second bar and a second bar rack bottom support engaged with the bottom end of each second bar, the second bar rack bottom support overlying a portion of the first bar rack bottom support, and a mounting arrangement for fixing the first bar rack to the frame and for releasably mounting the second bar rack on the frame, the first and second bar racks thereby defining a fine screen compound bar rack wherein the second bars have a portion extending into a respective upstream space.

L'ensemble de grilles à barreaux comporte un cadre, une première grille prenant appui sur le cadre et s'étendant en travers de l'écoulement d'eaux usées. La première grille comprend une série de premiers barreaux allongés généralement parallèles ayant chacun une extrémité supérieure et une extrémité inférieure. Les premiers barreaux forment entre eux une série d'espaces en amont. L'ensemble comprend également : un support supérieur ancré à l'extrémité supérieure de chacun des premiers barreaux et un support inférieur ancré à l'extrémité inférieure de chacun des premiers barreaux; une seconde grille prenant appui sur le cadre et s'étendant en travers du débit d'eaux usées. La seconde grille comprend : une série de seconds barreaux allongés généralement parallèles ayant chacun une extrémité supérieure et une extrémité inférieure; un support supérieur ancré à l'extrémité supérieure de chacun des seconds barreaux et un support inférieur ancré à l'extrémité inférieure de chacun des seconds barreaux et recouvrant une partie du support inférieur des premiers barreaux; et un ensemble de montage destiné à fixer la première et la seconde grilles au cadre, la seconde grille étant fixée de façon amovible. Les premières et secondes grilles forment un ensemble de grilles fin composé de plusieurs grilles, dont les seconds barreaux s'étendent partiellement dans un espace respectif en amont.
