13685.0003 ABSTRACT A holder for a bar of soap. The holder comprises a single piece of elongate flexible material including two members integrally connected at one end and which may be spread apart at the other end for insertion of a bar of soap, the members being biased to hold the soap therebetween whereby the soap may be suspended free from constant water/dampness contact so that the soap life may be extended. One of the members extends outwardly from the other member a distance greater than the thickness of a bar of soap to be held therebetween before extending inwardly toward the other member at the other end so as to evenly and effectively distribute the stress and/or tension of bending along a long portion of the single piece to enhance the ability of the holder to spring back to a closed position upon removal of a bar of soap therefrom. One of the members is provided with a projecting point for piercingly engaging a slippery bar of soap inserted between the members.
