The invention relates to a barbecue (1) comprising a carrier element (2), a grilling area (3) being substantial horizontal orientated and being located at the top of the carrier element (2) and a cover (4), wherein the cover (4) can be positioned in a first position (A) in which the grilling area (3) is covered and in a second position (B) in which the grilling area (3) is accessible. To improve the functionality of such a barbecue, the invention suggests that means (5, 6) are provided to allow the cover (4) to move from the first position (A) into the second position (B), wherein the cover (4) is pivoted during the movement from the first position (A) into the second position (B) around a horizontal axis (7) and wherein the barycentre (S) of the cover (4) is moved from a first level (hA) to a second, lower level (hB).

L'invention concerne un barbecue (1) comprenant un élément support (2), une zone à grille (3) orientée sensiblement horizontalement et située en haut de l'élément support (2) et un couvercle (4) qui peut être placé dans une première position (A) à laquelle la zone à grille (3) est recouverte et dans une seconde position (B) à laquelle la zone à grille (3) est accessible.
