ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hand held barbecue grill lifting device comprised of a heat resistant lifting surface and a handle extending from the lifting surface in a direction away from the plane of the lifting surface. The lifting surface is comprised of two lifting supports which lie in the same plane and are symmetrical about the centre of the lifting surface. The lifting surface allows the lifting supports to be inserted between two adjacent bars in a barbecue grill. The lifting surface may then be positioned directly underneath the centre of mass of the grill. When used properly the grill would remain stable and balanced on the lifting surface when elevated.
