A drip tray used with a gas fired barbeque to prevent fouling of the barbeque and to provide a more uniform cooking of the food without constant attention. The drip tray includes a tray that is inserted in the barbeque below one side of the grill and above one of the barbeque burners. It is suspended from the grill. In use, the uncovered burner is ignited and the food is placed on the grill above the drip tray. The lid is then closed so that heat will circulate around the food.
