The present invention provides thioaluminate phosphor compounds BaAl2S4 and BaAl4S7 with novel crystal structures that have higher luminosity and improved colour coordinates. The invention is also directed to rare earth element activated barium thioaluminate phosphor films comprising a phosphor compound having a novel crystal lattice structure that increases the electroluminescent light emission from the film. The phosphor films are for use in electroluminescent displays and in particular, thick film dielectric electroluminescent displays.
Cette invention concerne des composés phosphore de thioaluminate BaAl2S4 et BaAl4S7 avec de nouvelles structures cristallines ayant une plus grande luminosité et de meilleures coordonnées des couleurs. Cette invention concerne également des films au phosphore de thioaluminate de baryum activés par des éléments de terres rares, qui comprennent un composé phosphore ayant une nouvelle structure réticulée cristalline qui augmente l'émission de lumière électroluminescente à partir du film. Ces films au phosphore sont conçus pour être utilisés dans des affichages électroluminescents et, notamment, dans des affichages électroluminescents diélectriques à film épais.
