The invention concerns a barking tool (1) for barking machines of the type having a plurality of swinging arms (13), each being at an inner end (14) pivotally mounted on an annular rotator which is rotatable about an axis of rotation, and each having at a free outer end a processing edge (1). The processing edge is defined between a front (4) and a top surface (2), which is adapted, during barking, to make an acute angle with the circumferential surface of the log (15). The barking tool further has a bead (12), which is located on the top surface in an area adjacent to the end of the processing edge furthest down in the feeding direction. The bead (12) is essentially arcuate in such a manner that its height above the top surface (2) successively increases from an area adjacent to the processing edge (8) perpendicularly backwards therefrom and, more specifically, the height is adapted such that the bead during normal barking is positioned between a certain minimum and a certain maximum, and preferably essentially uniform, distance from the barked circumferential surface of the log (15) independently of its diameter.
La présente invention a pour objet un outil à écorcer (1) pour machines à écorcer de type comportant une pluralité de bras oscillants (13), chacun ayant son extrémité intérieure (14) montée en pivotement sur un rotateur annulaire en rotation sur un axe de rotation, et chacun comportant une extrémité extérieure libre et un bord de travail (1). Le bord de travail, défini entre une surface avant (4) et une surface supérieure (2), est adapté de façon à décrire, durant l'écorçage, un angle aigu par rapport à la surface circonférentielle de la bille (15). L'outil en question comporte en outre un boudin (12) qui est situé à la surface supérieure de l'outil, en un endroit qui se trouve à proximité de l'extrémité du bord de travail, en un point le plus avancé dans la direction de l'alimentation. Le boudin (12) est essentiellement de forme courbe, de telle sorte que sa hauteur par rapport à la surface supérieure (2) augmente successivement entre une région située près du bord de travail (8), perpendiculairement vers l'arrière de celui-ci; de manière plus spécifique, la hauteur du boudin est telle que pendant les opérations normales d'écorçage, le boudin se trouve à une distance moyenne située entre une certaine distance minimale et une certaine distance maximale, de préférence essentiellement uniforme, entre la circonférence de la bille soumise à l'écorçage (15), indépendamment du diamètre de celle-ci.
