ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Base for a semiconductor laser and its production process. The base according to the invention comprises a metal support having a planar holder and a prismatic part provided with a slot, in which is brazed metal strip. The upper edge of the strip is polished and receives the laser chip. An inter- connection wafer is brazed to the holder. Application to the construction of semiconductor lasers. (Fig 1).
