A base oil having an unexpectedly low dynamic viscosity as measured by ASTM D5133 test method comprises a blend of about 65 to 97.5 wt% of a paraffinic oil having a VI of 130 or greater, a Kv @ 100~C of about 3.8 cSt or greater and a pour point of - 15~C or less and an ester of lubricating viscosity of from about 35 to about 2.5 wt%. The base oil is further characterized as free of added viscosity modifiers.

L'invention concerne une huile de base présentant une viscosité dynamique extrêmement faible mesurée par un procédé de test ASTM D5133. Cette huile comprend un mélange comportant 65 à 97,5 % en poids environ d'une huile paraffinique présentant un VI supérieur ou égal à 130, un Kv à 100°C supérieur ou égal à 3,8 cSt environ et un point d'écoulement inférieur ou égal à - 15°C; et un ester présentant une viscosité de lubrification comprise entre 35 et 2,5 % en poids environ. Cette huile de base est caractérisée comme étant exempte de modificateurs de viscosité ajoutés.
