A synchronization control method in a communication system having a mobile station for performing intermittent reception and a base station comprises: a step (S103)in which the base station creates a synchronization request upon arrival of data addressed to the mobile station (S101), a step (S103) in which the mobile station receives the synchronization request from the base station, a step (S105) in which the mobile station transmits feedback information in response to the synchronization request, a step (S105) in which the base station receives the feedback information, and a step (S107) in which the base station measures a signal propagation delay time from the timing at which it has received the feedback information.
