Case 2672 BASEBOARD HEATER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an electrical baseboard heater including an elongated hollow casing, with an air flow passageway therein having an air inlet and an air outlet, there is provided a plurality of aligned thermal insulating spacers secured between the top wall of the hollow casing and a re-entrant portion of the top wall adjacent the air outlet. An elongated air guide is supported within the casing by the insulating spacer's in close proximity to the top wall, providing an air gap therebetween. The air guide deflects warmed air out of the casing and prevents overheating of the top wall of the casing. The air guide has a flange resting against the spacers which are in mutually spaced relation across the flange. Previous baseboard heaters had the flange of their air guides supported directly on the re-entrant portion of the top wall, permitting heat transfer by conduction between the guide and top wall. The present heater employs the spacers to thermal isolate the air-guide from the top wall, thus eliminating heat transfer by conduction therebetween.
