16 Abstract The invention describes basic calcium aluminum hydroxide dicarboxylates of the general formula CaxAl2(OH)2(x+3-y)Ay . m H2O wherein x means 2 to 12, Image m means 0 to 12, and A means an aliphatic, aromatic or heteroaromatic dicar- boxylic acid anion or combinations thereof, with the proviso that y ? 1, if x = 2-8 and a process for their production. The compounds according to the invention are particularly suited as stabilizers for halogen-containing thermoplas- tic resins, in particular PVC.
