A novel basic metal salt of a dithiocarbamic acid represented by general formula (1) and having a basic component content (=ax3x100) of 30-100 mol %. In formula (1) R1 to R4 represent each independently a C1-C30 lipophilic group; M represents a metal atom selected from among zinc, copper, nickel, iron, cadmium, silver, lead, antimony, tin and bismuth; and a represents a coefficient in the range of 1/3 to 1/10, which salt does not contain phosphorus and can impart an excellent wear resistance when used as a lubricating oil additive; and a lubricating oil composition comprising a lube base oil and the above metal salt, excellent in wear resistance and friction characteristics, and particularly suitable as a lubricating oil for automotive internal-combustion engines.
Nouveau sel métallique basique d'un acide dithiocarbamique représenté par la formule générale (1) et présentant une teneur en constituants basiques (=ax3x100) de 30-100 % en moles. Dans la formule (1), R?1¿ à R?4¿ représentent chacun indépendamment un groupe lipophile C¿1?-C¿30?; M représente un atome de métal choisi parmi zinc, cuivre, nickel, fer, cadmium, argent, plomb, antimoine, étain et bismuth; et a représente un coefficient dans la plage de 1/3 à 1/10. Ce sel ne contient pas de phosphore et peut conférer une excellente résistance à l'usure lorsqu'il est utilisé comme additif pour huile lubrifiante. Est également décrite une composition d'huile lubrifiante comprenant une huile de base lubrifiante et le sel métallique précité, présentant d'excellentes caractéristiques anti-friction et de résistance à l'usure, et convenant particulièrement comme huile lubrifiante pour moteurs à combustion interne.
