A basin to hold molten metal, specifically steel, having a refractory bottom, refractory walls, at least one nozzle mounted in the bottom to feed molten metal into at least one ingot mould, and a refractory stopper with a bottom and a more or less vertical wall defining a cavity, the stopper being placed in the bottom of the basin in order to receive a stream of molten steel from a ladle moving above the tank, and in order to divide the basin into two spaces. The first space contains at least one nozzle and the second space, the stopper cavity, confines the molten metal which then pours over the wall into the first space. The stopper whose wall defines the second space is divided into two sections by a partition, a first section that receives the stream of metal, and a second section where the metal upwells, the first section being located between the second section and the first space.
Réservoir d'alimentation destiné à retenir un métal fondu et notamment un acier, réservoir comprenant un fond réfractaire, des parois réfractaires, au moins une busette placée dans le fond réfractaire pour alimenter en métal fondu au moins une lingotière, un tampon réfractaire comportant un fond de tampon et une cloison sensiblement verticale définissant une cavité, le tampon étant ménagé sur le fond du réservoir d'une part, pour recevoir un jet de métal fondu en provenance d'une poche déplacée au-dessus dudit réservoir et d'autre part, pour assurer une séparation dudit réservoir en deux espaces, un premier espace comportant au moins une busette, et un deuxième espace, cavité du tampon, confinant le métal fondu, métal qui se déverse ensuite par débordement au-dessus de la cloison, dans le premier espace, caractérisé en ce que le tampon dont la cloison définit le deuxième espace est divisé en deux zones par une barrière, une zone recevant le jet de métal, et une zone de remontée du métal, située à l'opposé du premier espace par rapport au jet.
