ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a basket and animated character combination. The basket is formed with a continuous wall having a front wall region and a rear wall region with an open top and hollow interior. The animated character is formed from discrete body parts including a head and upper body appendages supported by and extending above the rear wall region and separate lower body appendages supported by the front wall region of the basket. The lower body appendages of the character are positioned on the front wall region relative to the head and upper body appendages on the rear wall region so as to give a false appearance of the character extending from the back wall region to the front wall region through the hollow interior of the basket.
