ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wire basket with a bail type handle or dual bail handles which are removable and may be flexibly attached to the-basket. Each handle has three sections, a first section extending transversely of a pair of opposing side walls of the basket, a second section extending downwardly from each end of the first section and a third section extending from each second section towards the rim of the basket. A flat disc is attached to each third section, each disc having a greater area than the cross section of the handle at that third section. Each third section is placed to contact the underside of the basket rim with the disc and a portion of each third section extending adjacent to the rim. A flexible O-ring extends from and contacts the underside of the portion of each third section located between the disc and the rim and then is directed across the top of the rim and then around the third section between the rim and the second section. The O-ring contacts the underside of the third section and hence retains the wire handle to the basket, permitting the handle to be folded towards or away from the center of the basket.
