The present device involves a basketball net modified to include elastic fibers that both narrow the circumference as well as add rigidity to the overall structure of the modified net. The modified net can be used to support an image only on the exterior face of the net and in a manner that could not be supported by an ordinary basketball net. As the ball passes freely through the constricted net, the net expands, causing the image to enlarge and become more visible. The kinetic effect of the ball expanding the net as it passes through, renders the image more noticeable because: (i) the eye is drawn to the net when the ball passes through; (ii) the image becomes enlarged in size as the basketball passes through the net; (iii) the contrast of the color and texture of the ball behind the net. Moreover, coinciding the excitement of goal scoring with the advertiser's kinetic image can serve to "anchor" the image in the spectator's memory.
