BASKETBALL SAFETY FUNNEL Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed herein is a basketball safety funnel (94) formed of a funnel-shaped body (96) having a clear or opaque reinforcing strip (98) at the top of the body (96). In an alternative embodiment, the funnel (100) only partially encloses the net (102) to act as a shield between a player and the net (102). In yet an another alternative embodiment, a basketball safety tube (110) attached to an existing net (106), either to enclose the upper half of the net (106) or the lower of the net (106), acts as a shield between the player and the net (106).
