The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cooking pulp. Especially, preferably, the invention relates to an alkaline batch cooking process, i.e. to a so-called Batch process. In the method and apparatus for cooking pulp by means of an alkaline batch process in accordance with the invention, the wood matter is supplied to the digester (10); the wood matter is pre-treated in the digester with a first liquor; the first liquor is displaced by a second liquor; said displaced first liquor is led to a further treatment; the wood matter is treated with the second liquor; and the cooked pulp is removed from the digester. The invention is characterized in that said second liquor is displaced as two consecutive parts, i.e. as strong liquor BLS and weak liquor BLW, and that having been cooled by a heat exchanger (20), strong liquor BLS thus obtained is fed into the digester (10) as said first liquor.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de cuire la pâte à papier, et notamment, de préférence, un procédé de cuisson alcaline discontinue, appelé traitement par lots. Avec le dispositif permettant de cuire la pâte par un procédé de cuisson alcaline discontinue selon l'invention, on amène la matière ligneuse au lessiveur (10); on la prétraite dans le lessiveur avec une première liqueur; on remplace la première liqueur par une seconde liqueur; on amène ladite première liqueur remplacée à un traitement ultérieur; on traite la matière ligneuse avec la seconde liqueur; et on sort la pâte cuite du lessiveur. L'invention est caractérisée par le fait que ladite seconde liqueur est remplacée de façon à obtenir deux parties consécutives, c'est-à-dire une liqueur forte (BLS) et une liqueur faible (BLW), et qu'après avoir été refroidie par un échangeur thermique (20), la liqueur forte (BLS) ainsi obtenue est amenée dans le lessiveur (10) en tant que ladite première liqueur.
