ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An aqueous ammoniacal bath for the electrodeposition of a palladium-nickel alloy contains a palladium salt and a nickel salt, each salt being present in the form of a complexing agent, at least one of the complexing agents having the formula R - A in which R represents a free or functionally converted hydroxyl or a free or functionally converted carboxyl group and A represents at least one of a nitrogen- and oxygen-containing organic radical of the general formula Image wherein R1 and R2, which are the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or a free or functionally converted amino group, and R3 represents an unsubstituted or substituted aliphatic, aromatic or araliphatic hydrocarbon group. The bath contains 50 to 150 g/l of complexing agent, the ratio by weight of palladium to nickel in the bath being from 1:3 to 1:4.
