ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bath salt comprising a water-soluble substrate combined with active detergent characterized in that a gas in liquified or gaseous form, releasable as a gas from the substrate when the substrate is dissolved in bath water, is incorporated in the substrate. This kind of bath salt is used in the usual manner and the novelty of the bathing event is significantly improved by the banging, sucking, whistling, hissing and grunting sounds the salt makes and the prickling, i.e. tactile sensations, which are produced by the salt as the enclosed liquified and/or gaseous gas is released upon dissolving the salt in the bath water. Moreover, active substances which may be combined in the bath preparation enter the softened upper layers of the skin by a kind of injection effect caused by the escaping gas.
