A B S T R A C T A modular plastic shower enclosure is described wherein the parts are jointed together horizontally by means of a joint including a substantially continuous joint collar, typically of aluminum, which includes securing tabs and is attached to the outside of the lower part of the joint. Cooperating tabs are attached to the outside of the upper part of the joint. On assembly, the jointed edges mate both to themselves and to a third mating face provided by the inside of the joint collar. The thus obtained joint is both simple to fabricate, simple to assemble, and requires no grout, mastic, or other sealant.
