A bathroom tissue comprising an intermediate layer having on one side thereof a top layer and the other side thereof a bottom layer characterized in that said intermediate layer comprises about 100% wood pulp and said top and bottom layers comprises wood and rayon pulps as mixed in a weight ratio of about 40-80:60-20 is disclosed. A process for producing the same is also disclosed.
