Multiple battery authentication security levels and procedures alert a user of counterfeit or unapproved batteries that are installed after manufacture of the wireless communication device. In an exemplary a battery authentication system, a mobile device sends a pre-stored plain text to a battery installed in the mobile device. An approved battery receives the plain text and performs an encryption algorithm on the plain text. Encrypted text is sent back to the mobile device. The mobile device compares the received encrypted text with a pre-stored encrypted text. If the received encrypted text matches the pre- stored encrypted text, then the battery is authenticated. Upon completion of the authentication of the installed battery, the mobile phone conducts normal battery and charging operation. If the received encrypted text does not match the pre-stored encrypted text, then the device enters authentication failure events that limit the use of the battery.
L'invention concerne plusieurs niveaux et procédures de sécurité relatifs à l'authentification de la batterie, qui signalent à un utilisateur la présence de batteries contrefaites ou non approuvées qui sont installées après la fabrication du dispositif de communication mobile. Dans un système d'authentification de batterie cité à titre d'exemple, un dispositif mobile envoie un texte en clair préenregistré à une batterie installée dans le dispositif mobile. Une batterie approuvée reçoit le texte en clair et exécute un algorithme de chiffrage sur ce texte. Le texte chiffré est renvoyé au dispositif mobile qui le compare à un texte chiffré préenregistré. Si le texte chiffré reçu correspond au texte chiffré préenregistré, la batterie est authentifiée. Une fois l'authentification de la batterie installée achevée, le téléphone mobile exécute les opérations normales concernant la batterie et le chargement de la batterie. Si le texte chiffré reçu ne correspond pas au texte chiffré préenregistré, le dispositif active des événement d'échec d'authentification qui restreignent l'utilisation de la batterie.
