27848-1 ABSTRACT Disclosed is a battery cell which comprises a housing made of insulating material which holds the acid and plates and which is provided on its underside with at least one first rail having a hook-like cross-section and connectable to a stationary second rail fastened to a base of a submarine by mutually hooking in that in each case one leg of the one rail is brought into positive locking engagement in a groove formed by the other rail. To avoid damage to the housing bottom caused by the effects of shock and to increase the capacity of the battery cell with the same structural height of the cell, the first rail is shaped on the housing bottom and forms an integral component of the bottom.
