BATTERY CONNECTOR ABSTRACT: A battery connector includes a contact member having a contact portion, which also serves as a leaf spring, a connecting portion for connecting a wire and a fixing portion for fixing the contact member to the housing. Each fixing portion has a pair of opposing side walls and an engaging arm which extends downwardly towards the contact portion. Each side wall has an opening formed therein. The housing has a recess for receiving and holding the contact member therein, and an engaging portion for engaging the engaging arms of the contact members. Projections for engagement with the openings in the fixing portions are provided on inner wall surfaces of the recess.
