A protective and at least in part heat-insulating cover (1) for a battery as shown in the figure, especially an automobile battery disposed in an automobile, having a pleasing appearance, and having a molded, rigid plastic support (2) with at least a top wall (3) and side walls (4, 5, 6), which walls are sufficiently rigid so as to be self supporting. Heat insulation (31) is disposed on at least a portion of at least one wall and an envelope (30) of plastic material encloses the insulation. Attachments (45) attach the envelope to at least a portion of at least one wall.

Enveloppe de protection et d'isolation thermique au moins partielle (1) d'une batterie, comme l'illustre la figure (1), particulièrement d'une batterie d'automobile situé dans une automobile, présentant un aspect esthétique et possédant un support moulé en plastique rigide (2) comportant au moins une paroi supérieure (3) et des parois latérales (4, 5, 6), lesdites parois étant suffisament rigides de manière à être autonomes. L'isolation thermique (31) est située sur au moins une partie d'au moins une paroi et une enveloppe (30) en plastique enferme ladite isolation. Des éléments de fixation (45) servent à fixer l'enveloppe à au moins une partie d'au moins une paroi.
