A device monitors the charging of a series of individual cells or batteries and alters the charging of each cell or battery depending upon it particular position. The device monitors the electrical potential between different cells or batteries. If the difference in potential is greater than certain amounts, then the cells or batteries goes to the highest voltage is discharged and the diverted to the cell or battery with a lower potential.
