The invention relates to a battery module, comprising cells (10), two external terminals (23, 24), an infrastructure (102, 29) for communicating messages, a control unit (100), comprising a message processing unit, connected to the infrastructure (102, 29), for sending and receiving messages. According to the invention, at least two of the messages chosen from: - a first message regarding characterization of the cells, - a second message regarding forming of the cells, and - a third message regarding utilization of a battery pack comprising several modules connected by their usage terminals, when the pack is associated with a consumer machine with a view to supplying it with electrical energy, are provided in the processing unit, which unit is configurable in any one of the messages.

L'invention concerne un module de batterie, comportant des cellules (10), deux bornes extérieures (23, 24), une infrastructure (102, 29) de communication de messages, une unité (100) de commande, comportant une unité de traitement de messages, reliée à l'infrastructure (102, 29), pour envoyer et recevoir des messages. Suivant l'invention, au moins deux des messageries choisies parmi : - une première messagerie de caractérisation des cellules, - une deuxième messagerie de formage des cellules, et - une troisième messagerie d'exploitation d'un pack de batterie comportant plusieurs modules connectés par leurs bornes d'utilisation, lorsque le pack est associé à une machine consommatrice en vue de l'alimenter en énergie électrique, sont prévues dans l'unité de traitement, laquelle est configurable en l'une quelconque des messageries.
